Der Eierstockkrebs (Ovarialkarzinom) ist die fünfthäufigste bösartige Erkrankunge der Frau. Es ist eine Erkrankung, deren Auftreten mit steigendem Alter zunimmt. Die große Gefahr bei dieser Art von Tumor besteht darin, dass er meist sehr spät entdeckt wird, da lange Zeit zunächst keine Symptome auftreten. Deutliche Symptome zeigen sich erst im Spätstadium.
